History
Uzbekistan has rich history that dates back to the depth of millennia. As archeologists witness, it is one of the most ancient places inhabited by humans whose age exceeded 1 million years.Productive lands, goods water sources, abundance of heat contributed to development of farming. Large areas of deserts and steppes being situated next to farming district served as the pastures for cattle. With their evolution the inhabitants of these regions established various relations with neighbors. Culture. Great Silk Road.
Periods of economic and cultural prosperity changed with eras of deep recession due to many occupations from different sides. However, the development process continued. And the Great Silk Road that connected two ends of the world â'' Rome and China, contributed to this in many terms. This, the biggest transcontinental trade road in history of humanity had been binding Europe and Asia and in the old time was stretching from antic Rome to ancient capital of Japan Nara. Of course, trade between East and West was from time immemorial, but it was a separate piece of future Great road. As live memory of nations, laid this unique road connected East and West, can serve ancient Uzbek cities like Samarqand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shaxrizabs, Termez, Tashkent with their architectural monuments, that personifies centuries â'' old history of Great Silk Road
Science
Nowadays names of great statesmen, scientists, philosophers and poets whose achievements were included in the jewel box of the world civilization are well known in all countries, on all continents. Among them is Abu Ali bin Sino (Avicenna) who equally with Hippocrates is considered as the founder of modern medicine; al-Khorezmi whose name served as the basis for naming the algebra and algorithm; astronomer Ulugbek due to whom astronomy turned to science from being simply mystical secrets. This list is added by Bahouddin Nakshband, Al-Bukhari, At-Termizi, encyclopedic Abu Raykhan Beruni, poet Alished Navoi and many others.
The Historical Monuments. The Tourism.
Wonderful palaces, mausoleums, madrasahs, minarets created during the Temuridsâ'' era still amaze the tourists with their grandiose. Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabz which are included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO are deemed as jewels of history. Registan, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Gur-Emir and Shah-i-Zinda, Bukhara with its Po-i-Kalyan Complex, Ark citadel, Samanid Mausoleum and Lyabi Khauz Ensemble, and of course Khiva with its intact inner city Ichan Kala, mosques, madrasahs, minarets, walls and gates are acknowledged sites of world tourism.
Uzbektourism compamy.
Association of the Private Tourist Agencies of Uzbekistan established in 1988 according to the proposal of private traveling firms (tour operators) and hotels of the republic. Today Association has approximately 60 members from amongst the traveling firms and hotels of the republic. In pursuance of the Program of Developing APTA until 2005 year by Association during the last 2004 year was achieved certain privileges for the APTA members: given them 25 % reduction for education in the system of National Company â'œUzbektourismâ' (attestation of guides, tour operates, employee of hotel business, different courses, seminars, including the courses of raising the skill level, which are necessary for the traveling firms of the republic).On the 31st of March 2005 under the aegis Association with official support of Trade â'' industrial chamber of Uzbekistan and National Company â'œUzbektourismâ' was held the First Republican Traveling Exchange â'œTravel Marketâ', dated for opening of new travel season of 2005. In forum took part representatives of the travel field of all region of Uzbekistan, and also representatives of sub travel industry â'' manufacturers of native craft and souvenirs, insurance companies, restaurants, transport bodies etc
